PrimerCube Technical Specifications
The PrimerCube design provided in our Technology Transfer Area is engineered using only the highest quality components to provide many years of trouble free operation. All critical internal components are mounted on shock absorbing supports so that they are protected from physical shock in case the PrimerCube is accidentally dropped. The PrimerCube should be molded from high quality medical grade ABS resin which is resistant to heat, impact, and most chemicals.

A power supply with European type plug connected to a PrimerCube
The PrimerCube design provided can operate on the replaceable high capacity lithium ion battery pack for over ten hours between charges . The battery pack can then be fully recharged in less than two hours even while the PrimerCube is running. Extra battery packs could be supplied so that a depleted battery pack can quickly be replaced with a fully charged one to allow the PrimerCube to be operated cordlessly 24 hours a day seven days per week. Estimated useful life of the battery pack is over 500 charge cycles or 5000 hours.
The battery pack design specified in our Technology Transfer Area is designed allow the PrimerCube to operate on the power supply directly in the event of a battery pack failure. Therefore you can keep using the PrimerCube until you can obtain a new battery pack.
There are many commercially available power supplies which can power the PrimerCube. These power supplies should provide 20 volts DC and be rated at 60 watts minimum. They should also operate on 100-240 volts AC and 50 or 60 hertz and come with cords or adapters for use on both US and European electrical outlets. This allows the PrimerCube to be operated off the electrical power system in most countries around the world.

Adapters are also commercially available which will allow the PrimerCube to be recharged and/or operated from cigarette lighter sockets in automobiles or trucks. There are many different types of these portable chargers available and they would need to have the correct plug to match the socket on the PrimerCube. They need to supply 20 volts at 60 watts minimum.
Battery Level Indicators
The charge levels of the lithium ion battery pack are indicated by the blue LEDs as shown in these photos.
When the PrimerCube is operating and the power supply is not connected the blue LEDs on the battery pack will be off during normal operation. To read the charge level of the battery pack, press the black button on the battery pack. Once the black button is depressed then the battery level will be indicated by the blue LEDs as shown in the images here.
When the power supply is plugged into the PrimerCube the LEDs continuously indicate the charging/battery status without depressing the black button. When the battery pack is charging the first LED will be on.When the battery pack is fully charged the first LED will turn off. LEDs 2 to 5 indicate the charge level of the battery pack as shown in the photos here. When fully charged the first LED will be off and all the others will be on.
Another advantage of the PrimerCube is that since it is small and cordless it can be placed inside of a sealed plastic bag if so desired to stop the spread of germs or virus from user to user. For usage in areas where protection from water is required the PrimerCube can also be used inside of a typical waterproof bag.
